Flower delivery in Charváty from a local florist

Charváty lies beside the road from Olomouc to Tovačov. The municipal office is in the former agricultural dairy building and also administers the local parts of Drahlov and Čertoryje. The small, multi-grade primary school teaches pupils in Years 1 to 5 in a building beside the Church of St John the Baptist. The municipality's nursery school is in Drahlov, and its school canteen also cooks for primary pupils.

The first written record, from 1347, names Vicen of Charváty as the holder of part of the village. The parish Church of St John the Baptist was built in 1582 and rebuilt in its present form after a fire in 1882. Saint Jan Sarkander served as a priest at the rectory in Charváty from 1610 to 1611. Drahlov has a sports complex with a football pitch, where the Moravian Rowing Club Haná is based.
