Flower Delivery to Majetín from Prostějov

Majetín lies on the edge of Haná, about 12 km from Olomouc, between the Olešnice stream and a branch of the Morava called Morávka. The first mention of the village dates from 1277.

The parish church of St Cyril and Methodius dates from 1863, and a stone cross from 1871 stands in the local cemetery. The pilgrimage chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, built in 1885 in the Olší grove near Majetín, stands above a spring whose water was considered medicinal. The Jewish surname Meitner comes from Majetín; the family of physicist Lise Meitner bore it, and the element meitnerium was named after her.
