Náklo lies in the Haná region, about 11 kilometres north-west of Olomouc. It comprises three parts: Náklo, Mezice and Lhota nad Moravou.

Náklo's first written mention dates to 1078 and appears in the founding charter of Hradisko Monastery near Olomouc. The Baroque church of St George in Náklo was completed in 1698, and a Baroque statue of St Florian stands on the village green.
