Senice na Hané lies on the Blata stream in the Olomouc District. It is about 8 km south of Litovel. The municipality also includes the local areas of Cakov and Odrlice.

The first written record of the village dates from 1078 and appears in the founding charter of Hradisko Monastery. The Baroque Church of St Mary Magdalene, built in 1704–1705, incorporates the tower of an older church destroyed by fire. Traditional events include the witches’ bonfire and putting up and taking down the maypole.
